Personal Interests

Middle Eastern Dance
I became involved in Middle Eastern dance through my desire to learn something different and unique. The sensuality, mystique, and the different styles and costuming of this dance really appealed to me. What I enjoy most from the troupe is the sisterhood, friendships, and the many different personalities that contribute to our group. My favorite forms of dance are the ones with a story and has props and theatrics. I love American Tribal Fusion for the mystique and the music, as well as experimental forms of belly dance (gothic style). Recently myself and Kamilah won first place and People's choice award at the East Coast Belly Dance Competition 2005. Last year we placed 2nd and won People's Choice award with a sword duet in the 2004 East Coast Belly Dance Classic at Virginia Beach.

New Interests

Currently I am working with fire props and other sword dances. Now performing with our new fire troupe "Firestorm". Working on Choreographies with different fire props.
